Our Design Approach

Our projects are proof that the spaces we design allow patients to heal and staff to provide the highest quality of care. We always search for and find ways to enhance patient comfort and staff efficiency.

A key role of the architect is to balance the functional and technical aspects of the job with inspiration, creativity and innovation. Incorporating our vision for the future while being cost efficient is another.

The interaction our team takes on with our clients is crucial, as we are here to undertake long term relationships. We have made this our objective, and as a result, we have continued to gain ongoing partnerships with many medical institutions.

Flow & Process Analysis

Our experience designing hundreds of healthcare projects has honed JACA’s Flow & Process Analysis Methodology to perfection.

We embrace Six Sigma data-driven methodologies to define measure, analyze, improve and control every project. Our Lean Agents will assist you in identifying and eliminating waste in your facility by improving the overall process flow (LEAN) and optimizing each step of the process (Six Sigma).

Budget & Schedule

In support of our clients, completing a project on time and on budget is paramount. As for our office, a project can only be deemed a success when it meets the client’s criteria, even though budgets and time frames continue to trend downward.

Design Tools

For over five years, JACA has been using Revit Architecture as a part of our Building Information Modeling (BIM) toolkit. BIM is a model-based technology linked to a database of project information. This information is parametrically coordinated and can be extracted for:

-Specifications -Fabrication
-Project Scheduling -Facilities Management
-Cost Estimates -Integrated Project
-Daylight Simulations -Delivery Methods
-Energy Analysis
-Engineering and Construction Coordination

Our LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Accredited Professionals on staff will evaluate all design decisions and processes based on sustainability, efficiency, short and long-term economic impact, and appropriateness to the project.

Public Health Department Familiarity

JACA Architects has completed hundreds of healthcare projects in corporation with numerous Public Health Departments and local code authorities throughout New England. We respect their vital role in the healthcare system and have become extremely familiar with the permitting and approval process. As healthcare specialists, our expertise and collective knowledge in the healthcare industry has allowed our staff to easily work with reviewers and anticipate any potential issues in advance. Over the years, the firm has built exceptional working relationships with these regulatory bodies. We pride ourselves on the timeliness and success rate of our projects undergoing Public Health approval.
