Radiation Oncology

Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center

Project Description

This Cancer Center has been designed to offer the highest quality of radiation oncology care. The center includes the latest in Linear Accelerator, CT Simulation and HDR equipment in a light, warm and friendly aesthetic to promote a sense of welcomeness and well-being. The center has been designed to easily expand from a single linear accelerator vault to provide an additional vault in the future.


Gorton Specialty and Cancer Center

Project Description

Embracing the spa trend in a healthcare environment, this serene space was built in response to the increasing demand for outpatient cancer treatment. Combining the Hospital’s Outpatient Infusion and Outpatient Ambulatory Departments relieved their growth needs while enabling the Hospital to share the necessary support functions. This allows for a very efficient way to care for their patients.


Southcoast Center for Cancer Care

Project Description

This outpatient radiation and infusion therapy center was designed to make the patients and patients’ families feel as comfortable as possible. A patient lounge overlooking a healing garden gives the center a calming feel, while the latest cancer treatment technology provides the patient with excellent care. JACA incorporated sustainable practices into this project by integrating ample daylight where appropriate, as well as focusing in energy savings. Finishes were selected that are durable and cleanable, yet have high levels of recycled content and contribute to good indoor air quality.


PET CT Suite

Lahey Clinic
Location: Burlington, MA
Size: 5,000 Sq. Ft.
Completion: November 2006

Project Description

This 5,000 square foot stand-alone imaging suite was added to meet the growing needs within the existing hospital. The suite consists of a large PET/CT Radiology scan room, control room, and the necessary supporting functional areas. The integration of millwork to disguise medical equipment and lasers exemplifies JACA’s belief in highly technical areas, without compromising patient comfort. This new PET/CT molecular imaging system combines the two technologies and allows for earlier detection, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer and other diseases. The finishes were selected to provide a soothing and comforting atmosphere.
